Karuizawa Shaw Memorial Church

カナダ人で「軽井沢開発の父」 英国聖公会宣教師A.C.ショーにより創設された 軽井沢で最初の教会。裏手にはショーの別荘が復元されています。

Karuizawa's first church was built by Alexander Croft Shaw, a Canadian member of the Church of England and the "father of development in Karuizawa". Shaw's summer home has been rebuilt behind the church.

大正４年開湯の星野温泉の流れを汲むトンボの湯は「源泉かけ流し」の日帰り入浴施設。
檜が香る広々とした内湯と、開放的な露天風呂で気分もリフレッシュ。軟らかい泉質は美肌の湯としても知られています。

Karuizawa Plateau Church

大正１０年からの歴史と伝統ある教会。北原白秋や島崎藤村ら多くの文化人が集った「芸術自由教育講習会」が始まり。誰にでも開かれた教会として、日曜ゴスペル礼拝や年間行事には全国から多くの方が集います。

A church with a history and tradition from 1921.
The beginning is the “Art Freedom Training Class” where many cultural figures such as Hakushu Kitahara and Fujimura Shimazaki gathered.
As a church open to everyone, many people from all over the country gather for Sunday gospel worship and annual events.

From works completed by early 20th century masters to pieces done by energetic young Japanese artists, the museum is a center for a wide variety of modern art.

白糸の滝

Shiraito Falls

高さ3m、幅70mの湾曲した岩壁に数百条の 地下水が白糸のように落ち、清涼感に包まれ ます。マイナスイオンがヒーリング効果を高めると言われます。

Groundwater spills down like hundreds of white threads from curved rock faces three meters high and seventy meters across, creating a pleasantly cooling sensation. The negative ions at places like Shiraito Falls are thought to have amazing healing properties.

千ヶ滝

Sengataki Falls

静かな谷間に佇む落差20mほどの滝。 滝へ通じる遊歩道からは、木々に囲ま れた美しい四季折々の自然や、滝から 流れ落ちた渓流を見ることができます。

A waterfall of 20 meters high stands in a quiet valley of Karuizawa. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of each season and the stream coming from Sengataki Falls from the surrounding walkway.
